RSM-SS1 Sling-Shock™ Microphone Shock Mount

sling-shockRoyer Labs has developed a professional shock mount that is designed for the most critical applications. The RSM-SS1 introduces a completely new technology that does away with elastic bands, rubber bungee cords or synthetic bushings. This is a shock mount designed to last a lifetime! The adjustable microphone grip allows for a very secure hold, flexible microphone positioning, and its lined interior will never scratch your microphone. The RSM-SS1 will fit R-121, R-122, R-122V, SF-1, and SF-12 models as well as any cylindrical microphone measuring approximately one inch in diameter. If you want the best, this is it.

RSM-1 Microphone Shock Mount

R-121All good studio microphones should be placed in shock mounts for recording. Shock mounts keep vibrations from making their way up the mic stand, transferring into the microphone and showing up on your tracks as unwelcome noise. Sometimes vibration related noise that's unnoticeable while you're tracking shows up when you master, then suddenly it's "What's up with the thumps and noise in the bottom end? "Oops - should've "

The RSM-1 was designed for maximum shock protection, durability, ease of use and versatility. Not to mention that it's got a Royer logo and looks sharp. It's made of high-tech materials that will hold up for many years, and it doesn't use elastic bands that can stretch out over time.

Our AT-84 shock mount is excellent for our R-121 and SF-1 mics. But the longer bodied SF-12 stereo ribbon and R-122 active ribbon™ mics have a tendency to "lean" a little with the AT-84, especially when you position the mics horizontally (as with drum overheads). The RSM-1 provides a more secure hold, and its special orientation slots make pulling a mic out of the shock from the cable end impossible. The orientation slots are provided to let you position the mics forward or backwards (for tracking on the back side of R-121 and R-122 mics). While the RSM-1 is specially made to fit Royer microphones, it will also work with any 1-inch diameter mic.

AT-84 Microphone Shock Mount

AT-84The AT84 shock-mount is a cost effective alternative to the RSM-1. It is the suggested shock mount for Royer R-121s and SF-1s and it also provides good shock protection for our R-122 and SF-12 microphones, when the mics are positioned vertically.

PS-101 Pop Filter

R-122VFinally, a pop filter that doesn't filter your sound along with the pops. Look through a Royer PS-101 pop filter and you will see the mic clearly. The secret is the special louvered metal that deflects wind downwards while letting sound go directly through (see the PS-101 Close Up). The PS-101 will last for many years (try that with your nylon!), it can be cleaned with soap and water, and it looks good too!
