Arturo
Sandoval is quite possibly the world's greatest living trumpet player.
His playing is genius, incomparable and thrilling. On "Trumpet Evolution",
Arturo and a number of world-class musicians, producers and engineers recreated
19 twentieth century trumpet masterpieces. The record is a jazz lover's,
trumpet player's dream - one of the most important and ambitious trumpet
recordings ever made.
Trumpet Evolution was recorded at Capitol Studios in Los Angeles, Todd Ao sound stage in Los Angeles, and Arturo's Miami studio. Co-producer Gary Grant, a long time friend of Royer Labs', invited us in to photo-document the Los Angeles recording sessions. He also gave us photos from the Miami sessions.
