 Microphone comparisons with Steve Albini

MP3 =

A number of people asked us to make microphone comparisons on the Royer Demo CD. We thought it would be better to ask an engineer outside of Royer Labs to make the comparisons, and Steve Albini stepped up for us. Steve recorded these tracks at his studio, Electrical Audio, in Chicago. His microphone comparisons, along with his comments on ribbon mics in general, are highly informative - we’ve received hundreds of emails from people saying that they learned a lot from this section.
