The orchestral sessions for “A Very Good Year” with Willie Nelson, “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” with Johnny Mathis and “Hey Girl” with Michael McDonald were engineered by Terry Howard and LA scoring engineer Bobby Fernandez at the Warner Brothers scoring stage in Burbank, CA.

1. Willie and his world-traveled and much recorded guitar "Trigger." While the session started with two R-122's on Willie's guitar (pictured), they were picking up too much of the orchestra and were replaced with a pair of Schoeps condensers.

2. Willie and Ray had some isolation from the orchestra so everyone could record their parts together. Victor Vanacore, who arranged four songs for the record, also conducted these sessions.
