Wayne
Shorter has been one of jazz's leading figures for decades,
known for his brilliant compositional work and equally
brilliant saxophone playing. From his early work with Maynard
Ferguson, Art Blakey and Miles Davis (to name just a few)
to founding Weather Report with Joe Zawinul and Miroslav
Vitous in the 70’s, Wayne's contributions to jazz
are legendary and his influence on generations of jazz
musicians is profound.
Front
Of House and Recording engineer Rob Griffin has handled Wayne's
live performances and recordings since 2000, when Wayne started
a world tour that is still going strong. Rob used a pair of
Royer R-121's on Wayne's saxophone in 2001, and since then
has used Royer's on live drums, bass, piano, guitar and other
instruments.
Rob
told us "I'm in this for the goosebumps, and I use Royer mics
to translate the goosebumps.” Thank you Rob. |
