Preamp Considerations Ribbon Mics and Phantom Power

Non-powered ribbon microphones work best when they're paired with preamps that have high gain and a well matched input impedance. This writing spells out what you should look for in a pre to get the most out of your Royer ribbons.

This section applies to our non-powered mics. The R-122 and SF-24 phantom powered Royers will do well with almost any decent pre with phantom power.

If you think your microphone is in need of service, please read the shipping instructions, then download and fill out an RA form (choose domestic or international below). You will also have to call us to obtain a return authorization number.
 
If you are uncertain about the problem you’re having with the microphone, contact the Royer Labs service department at 818-847-0121 or e-mail support@royerlabs.com- Problems can often be as simple as a miswired cable, a preamplifier mismatch, RF interference, etc.

Royer mics come with a lifetime warranty to the original owner, but they have to be registered for your warranty to kick in so get that form in to us! Here's an online form that lets you register your mic(s) easily from your computer.
